Labor Day Loveland Tourny....final score 7-6

The game had already started by the time we arrived. Why late you ask? 1st reason Because it wasn't a high priority game. 2nd reason this game was just a fill in non league Labor Day game. almost like a glorified scrimmage, 3rd REAL REASON I wasn't the designated driver I was simply a passenger riding with Terri and KK ...consequently I had no choice but to be late...duh!

As I mentioned in the previous blog....3 of our starters were not playing due to the fact that it was a Holiday and a unimportant game.

Alex waved as he saw us there and then prepared to run in and take the snap from center to hold the ball for the extra point kick.

He did this in true veteran form...and appeared totally under control.
even though the kick fell short...it looked too low or partially blocked.

The game was a challenge to watch because we were using quite a few 2nd string players against Loveland's first string players. But our guys performed as I knew they would. Heck ..it was our 2nd string QB that scored on a broken play.....
It was our 2nd string defense that stopped Loveland from advancing the ball
It was our 2nd string defense that thwarted Lovelands crazy trick plays and awkward long passes
The only thing our 2nd string could not do was stop the Loveland guy from manipulating the clock at the end of the game allowing just enough time for their losing team to score...tie the game..and get the extra points to pull out a victory..
as much as this hurts to say
we
lost

Makes for a tuff Labor Day celebration
the boys were sad but not totally down
They all played well given what we were up against
Alex cried a bit as he Payton and mom drove off
drama all around..tuff day
Afterwards one of the coaches was having a back yard grill out but I didn't feel much like attending
simply not in the mood

holla
