The winning streak ends...

Well we knew it had to happen sooner or later....Our luck finally ran out. We lost Saturday 35 - 24. The game was pretty lopsided. The score makes it appear closer than it really was. The team that beat us was actually 5th graders and our guys are 6th graders. Alex and the guys played pretty much as they always do .....no great improvements...lots of bad passes...lots of nervousness and tentativeness....Its really really hard for a team to get better only practicing one day per week. Bottom line...It keeps Alex active and busy on Monday evenings and Sat morning...and he gradually is gaining more confidence on the court,. Its a slow process but I do see improvement.
One more game and then its playoffs. Our record todate is 3 wins- 6 losses
I did not forget my camera this time....I intentionally left it at home. I had a funny feeling it was going to be an ugly game.

Boy was I right!

Keep your fingers crossed ...Lacrosse has begun and maybe Alex will get back involved..As Ive always said Lacrosse is his best sport.

Another basketball victory....whats goin on? It was an ugly game as a matter of fact we scored the first 2 points for our opponents.One of our boys accidentally made a shot in the other team's basket...nevertheless we were victorious...so stop laughing
sorry no pics again...Alex played about average but that's an improvement.
Our record is now 6 losses 3 straight wins.....For a team that only maybe practices 1 nite a week we're not doing too bad we are gaining confidence as the season winds down.
Well gotta run that maybe 1 night practice is tonight!

Last week after practice I challenged Alex to make 10 lay ups in a row ,,,if he did it I would treat him to McDonald's...I lost he got fries and a shake..lets see what happens tonight

Great day with Alex...hes growing up.........

Alex arrived Sat 10AM for a fun packed busy day
first on the agenda was his usual Eggo's and Blackopps on WII ( Payton stayed home not feeling well)
All of his buddies were gathered around anticipating food crumbs on the floor there were none Alex cleaned his plate thoroughly..

We then headed to his 1PM basketball game where they patiently awaited the start

( Terri and KK were in attendance also ).....

Hey Hey Hey We won our 2nd game that's 2 in a row our record is 2 wins 6 loses........on a roll

We then head to Crossroads for a Super Bowl service....Alex posing here with some goof ball ears.......

Later Alex volunteered with me upstairs in the balcony...here u see 1000 balloons released from the ceiling as part of the Super Bowl service...Alex had a blast and did a great job volunteering...we really needed his help

Boy Im glad he's 12 now Hes a lot more self sufficient....He was beat after serving and ready to go wearing his cool EVENT STAFF Shirt

We headed outside and he celebrated a great evening ...then we headed to Crackerbarrel and met Terri and KK for some dinner
