Mud Bowl Tomahawks 20 Loveland 0

Loveland was undefeated.....so were we...........We still are.

It was a muddy mess so I coined it the mud bowl. Alex and red 2nd string played the entire 2nd half of the game. He went into the game as clean as a new born baby...but that didn't last long..as u can see in the pics...He got to run the ball on a number of plays and did quite well being on a muddy field. He also played defensive cornerback and was able to assist in a few tackles.

As an added treat Grandma Terri, grandma Deldra, Grandpa Keith, KK and his mom were in attendance to watch him play...they were very proud as was I. They sat and cheered quietly...unlike me running up and down the field taking pics and yelling instructions to my little baller out their ...I just can not sit still and watch him play its simply not possible.

Well we now have 1 more league game and then its on to the playoffs.

As much as Alex always said he wanted top play in mud ...It just didn't appear that he was enjoying it ..every other minute he was shaking mud off his hands and wiping them on the back of his teammates...

As always I must say I'm extremely proud of how he is doing...

As u can see we got his hair cut he looks normal again.

Tomahawk spaghetti dinner nite at Lakota East

Friday 4:30 PM Alex and I are on our way to Lakota East high for a spaghetti dinner and watch the high school game.
I was starving had not eaten all day and Alex was just home from school and also pretty hungry.
It had the making of a long long friday nite mainly because it had rained all day ...very gloomy.
I was bundled up like an old eskimo and when I picked up Alex he was wearing a football jersey and shorts...I said no way go change...he said "I ll be OK really"
When we arrived the Lakota East dinner all of the adults were bundled...but all of the kids were in shorts...so I just let it be. After the dinner we trucked over to the field to meet all the other players and the other Tomahawk teams...it was an amazing turn out of kids...The boys got in the game for free and also got to be on the field as the high school team ran out. We did the same thing last year so I knew the drill.
First let me say Alex and his friends did not watch any of the game they spent the entire first half running around flirting with girls...so at half time I said "lets go time to head out"
The game was awful anyway ...We left and headed to Chipoltle to eat AGAIN thats right remember we had already eaten spaghetti...next I took him home and headed home myself I reminded Alex that I would be getting him Sat at 7;45AM for practice yep Sat practice because we have another important league game Sunday...against Loveland .....does it never end!

I keep a positive attitude by telling myself "Im building memories"

Red Team passes the test Tomahawks 29 Little Miami 7

Well our Red team which is our 2nd string players got to start and play the majority of the game today Alex was pumped, excited and a tad nervous I suspect.
He did fine in the game ran the ball well probably ran for 20+ yds or more ,got hurt on one play and had to be helped off the field while crying ..he sat on the bench and after a few minutes he was up and back in the game .."Good job grandson"
Our Red team played a good tough game but we did not score so our coach put in our Black team the 1st string team and we scored on the very first play. From that point on our teams swapped back and forth beating up on Little Miami which actually wasn't a bad team...they were just clearly out matched...we are that good ...really we are and Im not just a proud grandpa saying that.
I had my camera for pics but got so excited that I forgot to take it out of my pocket
We have on;y 2 more regular season game against Loveland and Anderson
I will take pics

No practice Reds Game

No practice tonite....Alexand I went to Reds game with another football dad and his son...David Walcott and david Jr...We had great seats...Alex took his glove expecting to catch a foul ball...no luck....We ate peanuts .hot dogs, burgers, jambalaya...that's right some very spicy jambalaya, ice cream and drinks....all for FREE!!! David Walcot has a special in through his job...its the only way to watch baseball.

It was a pretty decent game . lots of home runs..we left in the 7th inning..Alex would have stayed all night,,but he had math homework that he conveniently forgot to mention he had earlier. It was big fun and a good bonding time for Alex and David Jr by the way he is new to our team this year...hes gonna be very good player hes BIG BOY.... twice the size of Alex ...but not as fast...at least not yet. All the way home in the car David Jr rapped along with an Old School CD..
He did this in response to me showing him earlier that I could Moonwalk like Michael Jackson...

Yes I can

well gotta run..sorry no camera

Tomahawks 26- Milford 8

Finally we play ...Labor day has passed, scrimmages are over and we are set to play Milford ..Clearly the toughest game of our season todate and possibly the whole year. We killed them. The game started close, the referees called some very bad calls against us and we still killed Milford.
We had 9 penalties called against us and Milford had zero
Alex and our red team got in the game late in the fourth qtr and we scored our final TD. Our red team(2nd string) scored against Milfords first string.

We are a really really good, hard hitting, discipline, 5th grade team.
I suspect we should go undefeated all year and meet our arch Rival Team 2 in the championship once again...but I promise you this time the outcome will be different.

Scrimmage Thursday against ea other

Since no other teams would scrimmage us we scrimmaged each other...we divided the players as even as possible red team vs yellow team
yellow team won 19- 12
Alex had a great scrimmage ...he was on the red team...had a few good hits and a good run ...but he also fumbled once on that good run. Afterwards we celebrated at McDonald's....yuk
all in all the boys had fun and it was a very good scrimmage...
its labor day weekend so the boys get 4 days off and no game...
