The Helmet appeared!

The Lacrosse coach had it ...the whole time...and get this..he was waiting to give it to Alex but Alex never showed at practice because "GRANDPA" said "Im not taking anymore if u cant find your helmet" funny huh?
But "GRANDPA" decided to show up at the final Lacrosse game tonite even though Alex was sitting at home....As I walked in the coach saw me and said"I have Alex's helmet"
I immediately called Alex and he arrived in time for the game.
As a side bar I got to work the game clock so I got to watch the final indoor game upclose like a coach.
The team lost but I was glad Alex showed up and we found the mysterious missing helmet.
tomorrow is his last two basketball games...wish us luck.
Oh yes theres another dilemma a rising...his hair looks like a mop..and he vows not to have it cut because his so called girlfriend likes it..His mom says he refuses to get it cut.
Tomorrow may be a battle!...Its getting cut........before his games.

Why me ...Why oh why me lord!

Alex Alex Alex

Monday nite Alex had Lacrosse at 5PM -6PM and basketball from 8PM -9;30 PM
As always I arrived to pick him up 10min early.....He is dressed and ready to go in his Lacrosse gear plus he has his basketball gear in his arms...as he gets to the car
I say

"Where's your Lacrosse helmet?"
He looks puzzled , goes to look in his moms car no helmet, runs back into the garage/house returning minutes later gets in my car still no helmet

"grandpa I must have left it at the Lacrosse game last week when mom took me"

I simply said

" get out of the car ,Im not taking you to anymore lacrosse practices until you or your mom find that $75 helmet"

As I was leaving he says "what about basketball practice?"

I replied I will be back at 8!

At some point he must become more responsible..at some point!

Snow dance

whats a "snow dance?" you ask.....well

Alex told me Monday after basketball practice his plan was to go home and jump on the bed 5 times and flush the toilet 3 times..this would cause the snow to come therefore cancelling school. Some weird ritual created by 10 yr old boys.

He was correct...wise beyond his 10 years.

He will be sorry though...Outdoor Lacrosse starts Monday...
He better STOP jumping on beds and flushing toilets

The Transformation

To my Burton Boyz followers.....

Most of you dont know that when I started this Blog almost 2 years ago...It was basically following Alex and his adventures in learning sports( Payton was just a side issue that seemed to keep popping up) At the time however Alex was totally "out of Control" in school ...I would hear from his teacher weekly on some issue
It was a draining and stressful time to say the least.
Now enters sports ,especially Tomahawk football and 1 year later, 1 year older, a few butt beatings, zero idle time....and little Alex is consistantly on the honor roll and getting rave reviews from his current teacher..."Mrs Tubb or Bath" I cant remember
She writes how proud she is of Alex and how he has matured and grown turning all of his work in on time and even early..a great transformation and testament to the power of sports, teamwork and accountability...and him having No Free time.

"way to go Alex" YOU DA MAN
