Alex gets enough coverage so...................

its time for my two youngest grandkids

walked the entire second level several times
equivalent to 3.2 miles.
the journey continues.

the actual race is at the end of April and
its been a blast training weekly
another great opportunity at Crossroads
to continue to 
"BE the Church" 
in community with friends.
our group is known as
RUNCR.

it was freeizng on this particular morning
about 30 degrees and windy.
but we did it.

3 bridges later....


Todays training route was the exact route I will be tackling
on race day of "The Flying Pig"
10K
it was pretty easy
started at Paul Brown stadium crossed the purple bridge into Newport Ky
then crossed the Newport bridge into Covington Ky
then crossed Covington bridge back into Cincinnati
walked around downtown for a bit and then back to the starting point.
apart from any unforeseen injuries
it should be a 
wrap.

The last supper...for Undivided

This is my Undivided group at Crossroads

"Undivided" was the race reconciliation journey
that 1500 people decided to participate in
to discuss the state of race relations in Cincinnati 
and the country.

we met for 5 solid weeks and tonight was our
finale dinner week
including it was a very very good experience
and will be continued again in August
great discussions with
Christin, Brian, Katie, Isabell, Gabby, Danny and
 my co-facilitator Wendy.


20 years!

Its the 20 year anniversary of Crossroads

its started 1996
with 11 people in a school,
now 5 locations and 25,000 attendants later

West Side
Florence Ky
Miami University(Oxford)
an Internet Free streaming presence
Crossroads "Anywhere"

Sat 7AM training continues.....and its raining and cold


This is the group of walker/runners that I train
with every Sat morning in prep for the 
"Flying Pig" Marathon in April.
today my route was 6.5 miles
in the rain and the cold

i can remember not too long ago a time
i would ridicule the fools doing 
exactly what I was doing today at 7AM

walking and running in the friggin rain for no logical reason

OMG!

Week 3 Flying Pig + Upwards basketball Ceremony

7AM:  I was at Crossroads walking with a small group
our training was a 5.5 walk
it took about 1 1/2 hrs
and I wasn't even pushing it.

next stop : Payton's end of year basketball ceremony

Payton was busy making faces during the ceremony
always the class clown

The festivities were excellent
Upwards is a huge Christian organization coaching
tons of girls and boys
involved in
sports using Christian values
and prayer 


Its a God thing.

Week 2...Flying pig training

7AM Sat
Crossroads atrium
Relatively uneventful
more runners/walkers showed up
stretching and warming up
all dressed in running attire..yuck
and me in my baggy sweatpants an Tomahawk hoody
listening to "Off the wall"via bluetooth
met up with my 2 female walking partners
and 1 newbie

5 miles charted
not really that challenging
the race is approx 9 weeks away.

Tournament game nail biter

Well its over
The season has come to an exciting end.
It was a great game that came down to the last seconds.
we lost 13 - 10
I still think there were some time/clock shenanigans
even though we were playing in a church league.


It was a great first season for Payton
hopefully there will be many more.
now hes saying he wants to play football
