We had to travel about 40 miles for this game...We skipped church...Alex and I drank V8 juice,ate bananas and had OJ on long drive out to the game.
The park where we played was HUGE!
We arrived pretty early Alex and some teammates started getting ready and warming up..Then soon our coaches had the whole team warming up and getting ready to play against this power house team MILFORD EAGLES...
Both teams weighed in and the game started. MILFORD has a great defensive team...and they hit pretrty hard.
By halftime we were losing 7-0. Alex and the 2nd string team would probably not see any action this game......... these MILFORD guys were tough and we couldnt take the chance on letting them score again against our 2nd team...this was an IMPORTANT LEAGUE game.
2nd Half KK and Terri showed up to cheer Alex and teammates on..Alex waved at them in the stands.....
Forgot to mention I left my camera at home so I must talk u guys through this episode...
3rd qtr we finally scored and went ahead 8-7 then it was a real battle...4th qtr came and our defense was really wearing down but hanging in there..I was a tad nervous even though we were leading 8-7 and then MILFORD..throws a pass...But remember my motto "DEFENSE WINS GAMES"...well we intercepted the pass and ran 40 + yds to score. Alex, Coaches & teammates were on the sideline going crazy...I was in the stands going crazy...Terri and KK were sitting below going crazy....MILFORD was silent!
The MIGHTY EAGLES had just been dealt a taste of TOMAHAWK tenacity..hello!
We WON 16 -7
We rejoiced and celebrated all the way to the local neighborhood wings joint.
Alex , teammates, parents and coaches were all there.
It was a great great great great win....
Next practice Tuesday...and dont worry I will have my camera.
