Friday Woodland Elementary Buisness Day

Well..I carried out my plan...Went to Alex's school to verify he actually had to miss Lax practice and work on a school project...

There was a school project

He did have a popcorn business

I'm just not 100% sure he had to miss Lax practice to work on it

Regardless it was fun ...plus I got to meet and take pics of his girlfriend Cianna. Cute girl.

Her buisness project was painting nails.

KK and Terri also showed up ...I think Alex was more embarrassed than pleased to see us all..

His teacher said that he is doing great this year but every now and then he gets a tad testy........

It was a good day.

Lax practice missed...blame school

Alex called as soon as he arrived home from school
"grandpa...can I miss practice tonite I have a school business project due tomorrow and me and Richie are working on it...we are setting up a popcorn store at school and we need to get it all setup?"
So now Im challenged, he hasn't practiced all week...his next game is Sunday,He drops this on me just as Im about to pick him up for practice.
What do I say................................................................................."OK School is more important than Lacrosse but u better be working on that project" I am grandpa I promise ...you can even come and see it at school Friday if u don't believe me"

Well...now ...that sounds like a plan

Im back in town from a weekend conference....Guess how many Lacrosse practices Alex's mom took him to while I was away?

Birthday Phone

Alex got a new phone for his birthday...it arrived yesterday via mail...He already knows how to do a bunch f stuff on it.
I think hes on his moms plan unlimited minutes and texting...
ha!
this will be interesting...lets see how long this last

Lax practice with new long pole

Guess what? Alex used his own money from his recent birthday and bought a new Lacrosse pole...talkin about change of attitude...WOW! He had been saying that he wanted a long pole which is basically used for defensive players( sometimes the offense uses it but rarely)

Well when I picked him up ...he came out dressed and running with his new long pole...He was very excited and also practiced very well with it....never having used one before.

Go figure....but at least this time grandpa had his camera

Weds are MINE!!!

Now that Alex is back in the Lacrosse playing mode and seems to be excited about practicing and playing again, Payton is with Stephanie somewhere Im sure talking her ears off, KK is steadily mood swinging Terri into oblivion, Jayda is in St Louis pulling at Jaman's heart no doubt,and Jason is on the LEFT coast "need I say more" ...I can squeeze in an evening for me.....I started attending an ongoing bible study called "going deeper"at Crossroads Church. It's very thought provoking and an excellent mid week rejuvenation that challenges you on controlling your mind and thinking against the influences from the DARK SIDE!..Plus it helps me on continuing this spiritual journey that I appear to be on.

Correction!!!

Im actually a spiritual being on a human journey.

Lax game against Summit

This was a great game today...Alex played good but unfortunately or fortunately he was not able to score but he did have a great shot at the goal ....the ball hot the Goalie bar and bounced away...Yea thats right he almost scored again for the 2nd day in a row.
The game ended in a tie 8-8 no losers no winners...just a great game
Afterwards we got burgers and fries from 5 GUYS ...the I took him home.
Stephanie and Payton did not show up at the game...back to normal...

Practice Monday ...............back on the grind ...Alex asked me "what time u picking me up grandpa?"
"Around 5" I responded

He's back in the right frame of mind...good thing football starts in about 100 days

Alex back in Lacrosse "TO MY SURPRISE"

...Alex is back playing Lacrosse again.
Last week his coach sent out an email requesting that certain players play in an upcoming tournament...Alex's name was on this list..( AGAIN TO MY SURPRISE)
These were advance players that he wanted .....they were ones that he considered the best on the squad.

Alex had not practice for 2 weeks ...........so today Saturday we had a game
I picked him up at 9AM ...He was dressed and ready even after he had a sleepover the nite before due to his birthday..
We went to the field only to find out that his game wasn't until 12 noon..so we defaulted to Crackerbarrel for some breakfast and a candy bubblegum sucker
We returned to play the game at 12 noon....Alex warmed up and was welcomed back by a few teammates and coaches
The game starts........Alex gets in and scores the very first goal..."incredible shot" AlSO TO MY SURPRISE
A few plays later he is out sitting on the bench holding his tummy..He walks over to me on the sideline and says that his tummy is killing him he needs to poop!
The coach has excused him to go do his business...we rush to the car and rush to his house...He runs in,sits on the toilet and I depart.

I call later and hes fine...we simply did not allow enough digestion time after breakfast...Next game is Sunday at 4PM

OK blog followers this cant be a good thing when he says" Grandpa I missed 2 weeks of practice and still scored and I could've scored again if my tummy wasnt hurting"
I simply ignored this comment....
Im searching for the wisdom to respond...

Got it......" Confidence is a good thing and just maybe...he's gifted in Lacrosse"

Family only Birthday pics

Today was a family only gathering His mom, and her parents, his older brother Christopher, his younger brother Payton, His favorite aunt KK and me of course ...all of his buds are coming to his friends bash on Friday...I just might crash his Friday bash also....

Today we had hot dogs , chips and cake ...Oh yea and lots of fruit...Alex and I later played basketball outside...I won but I allowed him to think he could beat me......

Alex turns 11 today

Easter 2010 was a blast

Finally I got pics of Alex and Payton on their great Spring Break 2010 Easter with Grandma Deldra and Grandpa Keith...Its seems as they had a blast...Alex and Payton that is...Im sure it was a challenging time for Deldra and Keith as they have not had to deal with 2 boys, 10 and 5, fighting brothers, one that never shuts up and one that thinks he is the parent to his little brother.for a straight 7 days no break no let up constant action....."Isn't life wonderful" says stephanie the mom back home that gets a break for once.
but on the other hand...I was a complete basket case....I did not talk to them all week...but now they are back...guess what?
I still haven't talked to them...but I will very soon .....I will
